EFTPOS terminal application

Request a payment terminal for your taxi. A Cabcharge terminal supplied through SYD CABS is also what lets the vehicle accept a TTSS smartcard.

We email the terminal agreement here, so it has to be an address you actually read.

11 digits, as shown on your ABN registration.

If you already have a terminal and are replacing or transferring it. Leave blank for a new one.

Front of the licence, readable. A terminal is issued against a verified identity, not a name typed into a form.

This matters for TTSS. A TTSS smartcard can only be processed on a Cabcharge terminal supplied through SYD CABS — without one, the vehicle can take the paper voucher only.

Terminal terms

  1. The terminal and its antennas and cables remain the property of the supplier. It is issued to you, not sold to you.
  2. Settlements are made at least twice weekly to the bank account nominated on your account. SYD CABS does not settle fares taken on a third-party terminal.
  3. A terminal supplied through SYD CABS is what allows the vehicle to accept a TTSS smartcard. Without one, a driver must tell a TTSS passenger before the trip begins that the taxi accepts the paper voucher only.
  4. You must not interfere with the terminal, and must report a fault rather than continuing to trade on a terminal you know is faulty.
  5. On offboarding the equipment is removed, unless a transfer of terminal request has been completed and executed by both parties and Cabcharge. Fees continue on your account until it is fully closed.
  6. A terminal is fitted at the SYD CABS base. It is not fitted roadside.

These are the terms in summary. The terminal agreement you sign at fitting is the document that binds, and it prevails if the two ever differ.

I have read the terminal terms above and agree to them, and I understand I will sign the terminal agreement itself before the terminal is fitted.
I understand the terminal is fitted at the SYD CABS base and I will bring the vehicle in at an agreed time.

Why it matters for TTSS

A Cabcharge terminal supplied through SYD CABS is what lets a vehicle take a TTSS smartcard. Without one, drivers must tell the passenger before the trip starts that the taxi accepts the paper voucher only.

Settlements

Cabcharge settlements are made at least twice weekly to the account you nominate. If a vehicle runs its own third-party terminal, that provider settles it and SYD CABS makes no settlement for it.
